CHANGES TO THE CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS

The proposed amendments are:

·        To eliminate the 5-year consecutive service rule; and

·        To have individuals responsible for their own RSCDS dues

Article IV, Section B – to eliminate the five-year consecutive rule.  Before there was a limit that someone could only serve five years in that position, but now they can serve longer if they would like to.

Also, under By-Laws of the Milwaukee Scottish Country Dancers, Section 3.  Fees, it has been modified from:

Fee shall be set by the Board of Directors.  No fees for the Milwaukee Scottish Country Dancers will be charged to those persons holding an RSCDS Teacher’s Certificate or preliminary certificate.

At Large Positions, one will be Past President, and two At Large.

The By-Laws will be sent out by the Secretary three weeks before the AGM meeting with the proposed changes which will be held on July 14, 2025.

HALLOWEEN DANCE

The proposed dates were Saturday Oct 25, or November 1.  Rare Privilege, the musicians that have been playing for our Halloween Dance were not available on November 1, so the Board wanted to keep Rare Privilege. The dance will be held on Saturday October 25.

Rebecca will check with Journeys to make sure the gym is available on that date.

We went over the survey as to what people liked and what they would like to see us do differently.

Some of the proposed changes were:

·        Only walk through the beginner dances and ones that are difficult, instead of all the dances

·        Have dances marked beginner friendly / difficult

·        15 Dances on program instead of 18

Our Silent Auction went very well, and people enjoyed the selection of items being auctioned.

We will keep a sign-up sheet for items being brought to our Potluck to ensure a variety of food and avoid having too much of the same item.

ZAO

We will continue to fund rent shortfalls at Zao since it has been a good program, and it is still in the beginning stages for introducing students or people in the area to join the class and learn Scottish Country Dancing as well as Beginner Dancers that like to go and develop more of their dancing skills.
